My horse has long hair. The paste is stuck in the fibers of the hair. What can I do?

Sometimes a growth is located in an area that has longer hair fibers.

It is advisable to trim the hair around the area of growth to prevent the paste from sticking to the hair and healthy flesh. Although trimming the hair is not a requirement, you do want to ensure that the paste is effectively applied to the growth only.
